Our Saturday Tours listed here are popular public tours starting at 9:30 a.m. and ending at 12:30 p.m. Free parking is available at most churches. Transportation not included. All are welcome!

Private Tours

The majority of our tours are arranged privately for groups between five and fifty-five participants. We tailor tours for institutions such as park districts, or individuals and families. Would you like us to arrange a tour with a luncheon and transportation? Participants appreciate the ease of arrangements and enjoy the enriching experience. Many highly recommended restaurants and other partnering institutions, as well as over 50 churches, are on our visit-list.

Springtime of FaithMeet at: St. Mary of Perpetual Help: 1039 W. 32rd St., Chicago IL 60608

Immigrant populations of Irish, Polish, Lithuanian, German and many others swarmed into the Chicago swampland determined to more freely live out their faith and culture in a new world. Enduring communities still center around the masterfully crafted churches and schools. This tour will explore three or four prominent churches spanning the Back of the Yards, a bit of Bridgeport and a stop in Pilsen. Come see the colorful evidence of a strong faith still perpetuating into the city today.

2014 Holy Thursday Pilgrimage (Tour of Seven Churches)

Holy Thursday Pilgrimage

Back by popular demand, the Holy Name Cathedral night trolley tour and sixth annual Holy Thursday Pilgrimage. Join us for dinner after the Mass of the Lord's Supper and board trolleys which will take us to seven churches in Chicago.

Tickets are $20 for the dinner, $23 for the pilgrimage, and $43 for both. Online ticketing only. Processing fees will be added to the cost of each ticket.

This enjoyable tour begins at Our Lady of Lourdes, a brick church that was cut in half, moved across the street and lengthened by using the strength of horses, pulleys and American ingenuity. Participants will enjoy hearing about such famous feats in construction, founding personalities and stories about these artistic masterpieces still at use in three churches. Bring a lunch to enjoy or share in a nearby park afterwards!

Tour and Picnic Register Now

This fun tour and a picnic includes some of Chicago's finest churches. We will visit four churches. One was cut in half and moved across the street by teams of horses and crews of entrepreneurial men. Another had a zoo in the neighborhood for the Hollywood-esque film work initiating in Chicago at the time. Each has a unique cut of Chicago lore and unique beauty and sacredness worth exploring. The 'Architect of Chicago', Daniel Burnham, built one of the churches we will visit. Another, with its Zettler windows, was built before the civil war; Holy Family survived the Chicago Fire; the vast expanse of St. Mary of Perpetual Help and the contrasting brick church near by have their stories too. We will explore several while enjoying some of the colorful history south of Division St.

Ethnic influences are still to be seen in these original epicenters of faith. Join us for an enjoyable afternoon recalling the earliest makings of the journey that has shaped generations in Chicago. Our tour will invite the questions of intention, and consider the proportions of courage and action, that established such great spaces.
